Daktari Bush School & Wildlife Orphanage

DAKTARI's mission is to educate and inspire local underprivileged children to value their environment and stimulate community development. Every Monday we welcome a new group of 8 to 10 local underprivileged children for a week and give them the opportunity to discover, learn and become passionate about wildlife and conservation, their heritage. They also supplement their school curriculum in English, maths, environmental job opportunities, life skills and social issues. Their goal is to enable today's local underprivileged children to eventually be able to secure good employment in nature reserves, thereby improving their future quality of life with a passion to conserve their natural heritage.

This project is suitable for persons over the age of 18. However it is not for the faint hearted, working days are long and tiring. It is, however, a great opportunity for those wishing to have a lasting impact on the less privileged children and to help make their week at the bush school as enjoyable as possible. From shy, quiet children arriving on day one, to the children leaving feeling confident and ready to get home and tell their family and friends about the amazing time they had, makes this and extremely rewarding project to be a part of.
